It turns out our cell phones are not only killing conversation, but they are killing people in the Congo. A World War III has been going on there since the 1990's. Why don't Americans know anything about what is going on there and why? To help Diane and Dave understand why what is happening in the Congo is vital to regular Americans and people everywhere, Maurice Carney joins them on Democracy's Edge talk radio.
Maurice Carney is a co-founder and Executive Director of Friends of the Congo. He is an independent entrepreneur and human rights activist who has fought with Congolese for over a decade in their struggle for human dignity and control of their country. The Congo is the heart of Africa with enough good farm land to feed the entire world and a rain forest to keep the earth from warming. It also has a metal found in cell phones, Play Stations, computers, missile guiding systems and more. Discover why we must save the Congo from the corporate plunderers. It is the canary in the mine. Our lives depend on knowing more.
